Unit Description: L&D Scrub-This order MUST Scrub.  Multiple high risk patients with high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes (requiring insulin drip), preterm labor managed with Magnesium Sulfate, Heparin drips. Codes called are Obstetrical Hemorrhage, Labor Response , Maternal Hypertension, Neonatal Cardiac Arrest. Nurses do scrub in to cesarean when needed but do have surgical techs. Nurese draw blood  and start IV&apos;s but not blood cultures. Vaginal delivery, cesearan, fetal demise, preeclamptic, diabetic, monitoring of patient in early labor, antepartums, OBIX. 6 bed triage area, 4 bed PACU, 11 Birthing Rooms, 3 ORs, cesarean rate 21%, with a 41 % induction rate.
