Facility Details: 
*Closest airport is Albany, NY. RNs will need to get their own transportation to and from the airport (approx. 50 miles) 
 
Position Details: 
BLS, ACLS, CNOR required. 
BSN required 
RN must have First Assists experience. 
This is for their main OR 
Hours are 7a-5:30p, 10 hour days, 4 shifts/week 
On call and weekends by rotation

	<li>Knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
	<li>Knowledge of operative techniques related to the procedures in which the RNFA assists.
	<li>Pre-operative Phase Competencies for the management of patients in collaboration with other healthcare providers include, but are not limited to:
	<li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the customer being served.
	<li>Perform focused preoperative assessments.
	<li>Provide patient and family education.
	<li>Review and analyze patient data.
	<li>Communicate pertinent information to the surgeon as appropriate. 
	<li>Communicate with other health care providers about the patient’s plan of care.
	<li>Intra-operative competence for the performance of surgical first assisting techniques, include, but are not limited to:
	<li>Position patient as required for the surgical procedure
	<li>Prep and drape patient for specific surgical procedure.
	<li>Use instruments and medical devices,
	<li>Perform surgical site exposure,
	<li>Handle tissue,
	<li>Cut tissue,
	<li>Provide hemostasis,
	<li>Suture
	<li>Wound management.
	<li>Post-operative competencies for the management of patients in collaboration with other health care providers include, but are not limited to:
	<li>Participate in or perform postoperative rounds (may include wound management, dressing changes, suture and/or drain removal, other type of catheter & IV removal and as ordered by the duly authorized prescriber).
	<li>Communicate with other health care providers about the patient’s plan of care.
	<li>Assist with or arrange discharge plan and identify appropriate community resources as needed.
